During the winter of 2018/2019, we will give this beautiful Westerdijk sea-going scow a full-refit a tour schipyard. The sea-going scow was built in 1976, by the wellknown B. Westerdijk en Zn. Shipyard in Eernewoude / Friesland. It is fitted with a Volvo diesel 25-HP engine and is a easy to manoever yacht with a large navigational area. Considering the size of the yacht, it is definitely also perfect for use on the frisian canals and lakes. The yacht is recommended for people with little flat-bottomed sailing experience, but is also totally seaworthy for the lake Ijssel and the Wadden Sea. It is simply an ideal holiday yacht for those shallow waters.
The technology on the sea-going scow has been modified to meet today’s requirements. Heating has been incorporated and the interior has been modified for the charter use.
From spring 2019 on, we will be able to offer you the „Zeeotter“,.. a safe, secure and fun sailing yacht for up to 5 people.
Charter with Skipper – how does it work?
We offer a few of our larger Lemsteraak sailing yachts for charter including a skipper. This is intended for guests who have little or no experience with flat-bottomed sailing, but still wish to enjoy the special atmosphere on board these classic yachts.
The ‘hired’ skipper is able to navigate alone, using the engine. When sailing, this is a different story. The guests are expected to help to sail the yacht. Experience isn’t necessary, but is helpful! You must bear in mind that there is then space on board for two fewer guests.
Payment is either in advance, alternatively we can pay and then settle with our customers in cash, upon their arrival at the harbour. Shopping will then be delivered to the yacht whilst it is, moored in the harbour, or to the Sail Charter Friesland office.
