The Lemsteraak Zephyrus is a yacht that was built in 1965 at the Balk boatyard in accordance with original techniques. The vessel has a gaff-rigged mainsail, a furling system and a jib. Furthermore, the Zephyrus is equipped with a hydraulic steerage unit and a 115 HP diesel engine.
The yacht has a very spacious cockpit and a comfy deck-house. The vessel is available without a skipper, in which case, at least two people must have sufficient and demonstrable experience. If you personally do not have sufficient sailing experience, you can hire a skipper on request. You must bear in mind that there is then space for 6 guests.
The vessel lends itself perfectly to splendid sailing trips past the historic harbour towns along the banks of the IJsselmeer. In addition, you can experience the intimate atmosphere of Friesland’s lakes and canals and the Wadden Sea, with its beautiful islands not far away.
Charter with Skipper – how does it work?
We offer a few of our larger Lemsteraak sailing yachts for charter including a skipper. This is intended for guests who have little or no experience with flat-bottomed sailing, but still wish to enjoy the special atmosphere on board these classic yachts.
The ‘hired’ skipper is able to navigate alone, using the engine. When sailing, this is a different story. The guests are expected to help to sail the yacht. Experience isn’t necessary, but is helpful! You must bear in mind that there is then space on board for two fewer guests.
We also offer an optional training course, to learn the basics of all aspects of flat-bottomed sailing.
Payment is either in advance, alternatively we can pay and then settle with our customers in cash, upon their arrival at the harbour. Shopping will then be delivered to the yacht whilst it is, moored in the harbour, or to the Sail Charter Friesland office.
